Youngsters at Lighthorne Heath Primary School have a unique space for thinking and learning thanks to the opening of a new support centre in the school. The staff say that it is already having an impact on pupil progress. This area was developed from the remodelling of the former library area and resource cupboard. It includes an outer area for group work, quiet room with three computer booths, a desk area and some comfy sofas. An inner room within the centre has the facility for children to rest and doubles up as a sickroom. Geoff King of Warwickshire County Council is fully supportive of the initiative and says “It is an imaginative way of ensuring all children can contribute to the school no matter what challenges their transitionary difficulties present. A really inclusive solution.”
